Once the crisis of the Kingdom of Ruvinagald is solved, Lina, Gourry, Amelia and Zelgadis concentrate on helping Pokota break the seal that keeps the Taforashia people deep in sleep. To achieve this it's necessary to find the Vessel of the Hell King in which the spirit of Rezo, the red monk, supposedly sleeps, but the search won't be easy... To begin with, their guide is a disturbed amnesiac living armor, their main clue lies in an obliging automaton with an existential crisis and a deadly masked assassin stands in their way ready to do anything to finish off Lina.
