Editorial Ivrea publishes Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond is Unbreakable by Hirohiko Araki.
Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (Jojo's extravagant adventures), better known worldwide as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, tells the story of the Joestar family through the decades and their continuous confrontations with the evil vampire Dio Brando and his legacy. The work is divided into different parts or generations, totally self-contained and independent of each other; although connected by the blood, sweat and tears of their lineages. Each one takes place in a different time and place, and they even enjoy their own aesthetics, setting and particular theme. In this way, each of the "series within the series" can be enjoyed separately, and in turn complement each other, since it is very common to see the survivors of each saga making cameos (or directly co-starring) any of the next. The protagonists are nicknamed "Jojo", usually a conjunction of their first and last names -Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, etc.- and because of many physical and nominal characteristics they share, each one has a personality, ability and even a scale of completely own values. Victorian England, Mexico of the mid-twentieth century or Japan today, are some of the many times and places that are covered in the more than 130 years covered by this epic story created by Hirohiko Araki three decades ago. JoJo's is the longest and most characteristic work of mangaka, an author who in Japan is at the height of Akira Toriyama himself in terms of permanence, fame and influence in the collective imagination.
