Features of the 130pt magnetic clear case for standard cards

Some cards fit into a sleeve and that’s it… and then there are the thick “showpiece” cards that clearly need more room. For those, the 130pt Magnetic Clear Case by Ultimate Guard is built to protect and display thicker standard-size cards. This is the kind of holder used when a card is not just part of a deck, but a display piece or a high-value single.

In collecting, “pt” (point) measures thickness in thousandths of an inch. As a quick reference, a standard card is roughly 12pt thick. This model is designed for standard size trading cards up to 130pt thickness, making it suitable for very thick cards: premium parallels, layered specialty cards, or editions that simply will not fit into thinner holders. The goal is to keep the card stable inside the case without compression and without excessive internal movement.

Beyond thickness capacity, the case includes UV protection, helping reduce the effects of light exposure on artwork and color over time. It also features recessed corners, preventing the card’s edges from pressing directly against the frame. This is especially important for collectors aiming to preserve Mint or Near Mint condition by minimizing corner stress.

The strong magnetic closure opens and closes easily without screws or tools, while staying firmly sealed. This helps protect the card from dust, bending, and frequent handling. The holder is acid-free and highly transparent, making it safe for long-term storage and ideal for display, with clear visibility and no distortion.

With outer dimensions of 73 x 10.2 x 110.5 mm, it is sized to accommodate one thick standard card securely. For extra care, many collectors place the card in a thin inner sleeve before inserting it into the magnetic case. Overall, this is a premium display holder for cards that are meant to be preserved, not just stored.
