In collecting, there are regular cards… and then there are the thick, heavyweight pieces that demand proper protection. The 180pt Magnetic Clear Case by Ultimate Guard is specifically designed for thicker standard-size cards that exceed the capacity of typical holders. This is not a soft sleeve or a basic rigid loader; it is a display-ready magnetic case built for preservation and presentation.

The term “pt” (point) measures thickness in thousandths of an inch. A standard trading card is roughly 12pt thick. This model is designed for standard size trading cards up to 180pt thickness, making it suitable for extremely thick cards such as premium parallels, memorabilia inserts, or specialty editions with additional layers. The interior structure ensures the card remains stable without excessive compression or unwanted movement.

The case includes UV protection, helping reduce long-term light damage to artwork and colors. It also features recessed corners, preventing the card’s edges from pressing directly against the frame. This detail is particularly important for collectors who aim to preserve sharp corners and maintain Mint or Near Mint condition.

A strong magnetic closure allows the case to open and close easily without screws or tools. It opens like a book and seals securely, protecting the card from dust, frequent handling, and minor impacts. The holder is acid-free and highly transparent, ensuring long-term storage safety and crystal-clear visibility of artwork, foil finishes, and special details.

With outer dimensions of 73 x 10.8 x 110.5 mm, it is sized to securely house one thick standard card. Ideal for display cases, premium storage, or selling high-value singles, this magnetic holder provides both structure and presentation. For additional protection, many collectors insert the card into a thin inner sleeve before placing it inside the case.
