In an alternate timeline where Shinji Ikari successfully prevented the Human Instrumentality Project, humanity has continued moving forward while rebuilding what was left behind. Years have passed, and Nerv—now re-established as “Nerv Japan”—operates under the leadership of Misato Katsuragi, who guides the former pilots, now seventeen-year-old teenagers, in their new mission: preparing for the inevitable return of the Angels. However, this fragile balance is shattered when Rei No. Quatre, one of the many Rei units patrolling the world in search of threats, loses control during a devastating incident.

Explore more about the novel Evangelion in this reimagining set ten years after Episode 24 of the anime. When Shinji, piloting Unit-01, is forced to neutralise Rei No. Quatre with a gamma-ray laser shot, the young girl vanishes without a trace.
