Synopsis of Volume 13 of Hikaru no Go

Discover the fascinating world of go through the spectacular artwork of Takeshi Obata! When Hikaru Shindo, an ordinary young boy, discovers an old go board hidden in his grandfather's storeroom, he has no idea that his life is about to change forever. The mysterious board awakens the spirit of Sai, a legendary go player from ancient Japan whose extraordinary talent and passion for the game have endured beyond his own lifetime.

Bound together by an unexpected supernatural connection, Hikaru and Sai embark on a remarkable journey into the world of go, a traditional strategy game with thousands of years of history. Although Hikaru initially knows little about the game, Sai's enthusiasm gradually draws him into an environment filled with talented opponents, challenging matches and fascinating strategic possibilities. What begins as a strange encounter soon develops into a life-changing experience.

As Hikaru becomes increasingly involved in competitive go, he discovers that success requires far more than simply understanding the rules. Patience, concentration, creativity and the ability to anticipate an opponent's moves are essential to mastering this demanding game. Along the way, he encounters formidable rivals, develops meaningful friendships and begins to appreciate the dedication required to pursue excellence. Meanwhile, Sai's mysterious past and unwavering devotion to go add an emotional and supernatural dimension to their shared adventure.
