In an alternate timeline where Shinji Ikari successfully prevented the Human Instrumentality Project, humanity has continued to move forward while rebuilding what was lost. Years have passed, and Nerv—now reestablished as “Nerv Japan”—operates under the leadership of Misato Katsuragi. She guides the former Eva pilots, now seventeen-year-old teenagers, as they prepare for the inevitable return of the Angels.

However, the fragile balance of this rebuilt world is shattered when Rei Nº Quatre, one of the many Rei units deployed across the globe to monitor potential threats, loses control during a catastrophic incident. This unexpected event forces Shinji, once again piloting Unit-01, to make a devastating decision. After neutralizing Rei Nº Quatre with a gamma-ray laser shot, she vanishes without a trace, leaving behind more questions than answers.

This disappearance marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with mystery, emotional conflict, and unexplored possibilities. As past connections resurface and new dangers emerge, the story reshapes the destiny of its characters, offering a bold reimagining of the Evangelion universe.
