The Rei Ayanami Short Hair Rebuild of Evangelion PLAMAX Model Kit presents the “First Child” in her short-haired version from Rebuild of Evangelion, offering more than a simple display piece—you assemble her yourself. And in the world of Evangelion, that almost feels ceremonial.

Produced by Max Factory as part of the PLAMAX line, this model kit is made of PVC and stands approximately 20 cm tall once assembled. The design is based on the original rough concept by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, faithfully translating the proportions and details of Rei’s plugsuit into plastic form. The face plates come pad-printed for clean, precise expressions, while the colored runners help simplify the assembly process and maintain visual accuracy right out of the box.

The sculpt has been carefully engineered to preserve the nuances of the original design in kit format, maintaining the delicate balance between fragility and strength that defines Rei. Building the model becomes part of the experience: cutting, fitting, and refining as the pilot of EVA Unit 00 gradually takes shape. For many fans, assembling an Evangelion model kit isn’t just a pastime—it’s a direct connection to the series.

Please note that plastic model tools and adhesive are required for assembly. Using adhesive can provide a more secure finish, and appropriate plastic model paints are recommended if you choose to customize.
