Violetta Beauvais was an American witch who became one of the leading manufacturers of magic wands of the early twentieth century. All his creations were characterized by being created from the hawthorn wood of the Louisiana marshes. For a long time she kept secret the material she used to shape his nucleus, until it was discovered that it was Rougarou's hair, a beast similar to a werewolf. That caused some controversy to arise among the American magical community, since it was said that Rougarou's hair-core wands felt a special affinity for the Dark Arts and that, therefore, these wands were very appropriate for wizards and tenebrous witches. However, many great magicians of their time used Violetta Beauvais' wands, among them Madame President Seraphina Picquery, president of MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America).
