Features of the 2-Player Starter Set

Ready to discover that the best way to explore a magical city is by bringing along someone willing to challenge you to a trading card game? The Disney Lorcana TCG: Hyperia City 2-Player Starter Set (English) opens the door to an adventure where Disney characters, strategic decisions and magical ink combine in an experience designed to be shared. Inspired by Disney Lorcana, this product belongs to the Hyperia City expansion, transporting Illumineers to a bustling metropolis where fantasy meets lively streets, music and mysterious events hidden between its buildings. It is a setting that proves not every Disney adventure needs to begin inside an enchanted castle. Sometimes all it takes is a walk through the city to encounter familiar characters, unexpected situations and an opponent who looks suspiciously relaxed while preparing their next move.

Manufactured by Ravensburger, this product belongs to the Lorcana trading card game range and is designed to let two players start playing straight out of the box, without needing to build their own decks beforehand. The set contains 2 preconstructed 60-card decks in English, providing a total of 120 cards. Each deck includes two special foil cards, giving you four shiny cards across the complete set. Additional contents include 13 damage tokens, 2 lore trackers, 2 cardboard deck boxes and 1 Learn to Play rulebook. The exact product dimensions and manufacturing materials have not been specified in the available information. Everything is designed to provide two players with the essential components needed to learn the rules, understand the basic mechanics and begin enjoying their first matches together.

The two included decks introduce different strategies and ink combinations, allowing players to explore several aspects of the game. Technically Terrific combines Emerald and Sapphire and is led by Baymax, the lovable healthcare robot from Big Hero 6 who proves that looking after others can also be part of a clever card game strategy. The deck features familiar Disney characters, including Hiro Hamada, and offers an opportunity to discover how different cards work together. Meanwhile, Madcap Whimsy combines Amethyst and Steel and features Madam Mim, the wonderfully eccentric sorceress from The Sword in the Stone, whose unpredictable personality is perfectly suited to magical adventures. Both decks also provide an introduction to Ink Drops, a Hyperia City mechanic involving single-use ink counters that can be spent to pay ink costs. Learning when to use these additional resources creates fresh strategic opportunities and encourages players to think carefully about their decisions throughout each match.

This starter set is an excellent choice for anyone interested in learning Disney Lorcana TCG, introducing a friend or family member to the game or exploring a new expansion without needing to prepare two complete decks beforehand. The included decks help players become familiar with different ink combinations, practise using characters and abilities, develop strategies and understand how to collect the lore required for victory. It also makes a great gift for fans of Big Hero 6, The Sword in the Stone and collectible card games. As the decks are preconstructed, their contents are predetermined rather than randomly selected like booster packs, and no additional boosters are included. Players can enjoy the decks as supplied before gradually customising them with cards from their own collections. The set will not guarantee victory in your first match, persuade your opponent to overlook every mistake or make Madam Mim behave like a particularly sensible sorceress, but it does provide an accessible introduction to the world of Lorcana. And remember: Hyperia City might be full of wonderful attractions, but if your opponent is about to reach twenty lore, perhaps sightseeing should wait until after the game.
