What do you think about combining our favorite pirate with a slight traditional Japanese touch? This new One Piece figure that Banpresto presents us within its SCultures Colosseum collection shows Luffy with a very original look! Designed by the sculptor Yamaguchi Noriyuki, the basic idea of this impressive figure is to combine the best of two worlds: the best of the famous pirate series created by mangaka Eiichiro Oda and the best of traditional Japanese customs. The result is a curious version of Luffy that seems out of the classic stories of feudal Japan. Since One Piece takes place in a fictional world in which various influences are shown, both Eastern and Western, it isn't unreasonable to see the character in this costume. On the contrary, it's surprisingly appropriate for him.
This incredible figure is made of high quality PVC and measures 14 centimeters high, approximately. Luffy appears sitting on the floor. He wears a yukata, a type of kimono, above. This yukata is white, with the ends of the sleeves blue. The various folds of the garment fall on his body as if they were a cape. With his left hand he holds a discarded katana, with which he points forward. His right hand comes out of the central part of the yukata to hold a bamboo parasol, a type of traditional Japanese umbrella. Luffy has bare feet and carries his inseparable straw hat over his head. The expression on his face shows a defiant smile. This product is an official One Piece license and has been manufactured by Banpresto.
