Synopsis of Hanako-kun: The Toilet Ghost Volume 22

Nene Yashiro is a first-year high school student attending Kamome Academy, famous for its paranormal events and for housing the seven mythical mysteries. The seventh mystery is none other than Hanako, a girl who resides in the third-floor bathrooms of the academy and is said to grant wishes with the right incentive. However, when Nene decides to summon her to win over the boy of her dreams, she is surprised to find out that Hanako is not a girl, but a boy. After that wish fails, in a desperate attempt, Nene eats an object of Hanako's that is meant to help with romance, but it casts a curse on whoever consumes it. To save her, Hanako also eats it, but in return, he makes Nene work for him as his assistant. Hanako is responsible for maintaining peace between spirits and humans. To do so, he deals with malevolent apparitions, no matter the means required. Slowly, Hanako's past is unveiled while the secrets hidden among the seven mysteries of the academy are revealed.
